Arabegama is the third of the factories behind Udarata Tea, and perhaps the gentlest. Its teas are smooth and mellow, with a rounded sweetness that lingers after each sip.
A softer character
Where Embilmegama is brisk and Pilimathalawa is strong, Arabegama is round. The cup feels soft on the palate, with less bite and a naturally sweet finish. It is a tea that rewards slow sipping.
The finishing touch
In the Signature Blend, Arabegama rounds off the edges. It adds sweetness and smoothness, so the blend finishes gently rather than sharply.
How to enjoy it
- Steep for about four minutes in water just off the boil.
- Try it plain first — you may find it needs no sugar at all.
- A small splash of milk brings out its creaminess.
- Pair it with something delicate: kokis, a biscuit or fresh fruit.
