Our story
Udarata Tea was founded on a simple premise: the finest character of Ceylon tea isn’t found in one estate — it’s found in the conversation between them. We blend the mineral brightness of high-altitude leaf with the deep, malty body of mid-elevation terrain, curating the full range of what the Udarata truly tastes like.
Three estates. One highland.
Each factory contributes its own signature to the cup. Together they show what the Udarata — the upcountry — truly tastes like.
Bright and brisk, with the clean, mineral lift of higher-grown leaf.
Full-bodied and coppery — the traditional strength of a true Kandy cup.
Smooth and mellow, with a naturally sweet, rounded finish.
The ritual
One heaped teaspoon (about 2.5 g) for every 250 ml cup.
Freshly boiled water for black tea, a little cooler for green.
Three to five minutes. Follow the time printed on each pack.
Enjoy it plain, with milk, or the Sri Lankan way with a little jaggery.
